Unicon Congratulates Jen Bourey for Accepting the Jasig Portlet Release Manager Position

Phoenix, AZ - August 18, 2009 —Unicon, Inc., a leading provider of software consulting services and open source solutions for the education market, congratulates Jen Bourey, a software developer at Unicon, for accepting the volunteer position of uPortal Portlet Release Manager for the Jasig non-profit organization. Jasig’s goal is to encourage collaboration among institutions for the development and contribution of a free, open source library of shared portlets. The organization will provide a robust infrastructure for portlet development, ensure the portlets are maintained, and keep them portable across all standards compliant portals. The role of the Portlet Release Manager is to assist developers with the successful development and deployment of portlets that meet industry standards and best practices.
