Responding to COVID-19: Unicon's Business Continuity Plan

March 5, 2020

Clients and friends,

Like the rest of the world, we are monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and working diligently to avoid impact on our project engagements. Although the COVID-19 situation is evolving, our commitment to service delivery is unwavering. At times like these, we rely on our Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery plan to ensure the continuity of our client work and internal operations. In early February, we conducted a BCP exercise using an externally developed pandemic scenario to ensure we have the right technology, system access, and redundancy in place to minimize disruption for our clients.

As you can imagine, our business continuity plan contemplates not only the continuity of our work with clients but also the health and safety of our own employees. At this time we have restricted travel and have given our employees the choice to work remotely if they so choose. Our team is already a highly remote workforce, with over 75% of our employees telecommuting for some part of their work week on a regular basis. You should not experience any impact on our ability to deliver on your project with more of your project team working remotely - though you may hear an extra dog bark or two. Our offices in the Phoenix area remain open for those employees who choose to come in.

We understand that many of you may be experiencing new demands on your own teams based on the needs of your own constituents. Where those demands have impacts on projects we’re working on with you, we fully understand and will work with you to determine the best ways to move forward.

We appreciate the trust you put in us every day to help you work through your education technology challenges. We are confident that we can weather this storm together. If there is anything we can do to help your team through this time of uncertainty, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thanks and be safe,
Blake
